Q. What are the salaries and compensation like for Travelers?

A. Exceptional! Depending upon the hospital's staffing urgency and the geographical location, the salaries are generally higher for Travelers than staff members of the assignment hospital.
We construct the structure of each assignment individually so that we can get you the best total compensation package.
In addition to generous salaries, assignments can also include: Private Housing; Company Paid Health Insurance Premium; Completion Bonuses; Licensure Reimbursement; Travel Allowances and more. It is a very lucrative profession!

Q. What can you tell me about my paychecks?

A. While on assignment, your payroll will be administered by IHS on all of our Staffing Assignments. Our Travelers describe this service as "On-Time" and "Accurate."
Each IHS client hospital has individually negotiated rates that vary depending on several factors (specialty, location, level of experience, and type of facility). Pay rates are typically dependent on your individual experience and requirements coupled with the negotiated hospital rates. In some cases, facilities may offer bonuses for various reasons (sign-on, completion, quick start, etc.). Travelers may choose to have their pay check directly deposited into an account or receive their paychecks every week. We will clarify your compensation in the formal agreement well before you begin an assignment.

Q. What do I do when I have a question regarding my paycheck?

A. In addition to your personal recruiter, our Payroll Specialists are available to assist you with any questions or special requests that may arise before, during or after your assignment. We pride ourselves in offering our Travelers unequaled service and support. Remember, we have been there before.

Q. What cash bonuses are available in addition to my salary?

A. We can offer Completion Bonuses at the end of many assignments; the range is from $500 to $5,000. In addition, we have a very generous Referral Bonus Plan for referring your friends and professional acquaintances. Our Loyalty Bonus program begins with an annual week of pay and increases incrementally each year annually! Independent Healthcare Staffing offers many different Bonus opportunities. Bonuses are rewards for outstanding qualities or choices that we value in our employees such as longevity, attendance, referrals, paperwork/credential compliance, shared housing and others. With a little effort, there are many chances to qualify.

Q. Does IHS offer 'Free' Health Insurance?

A. Yes, there is no premium deduction from your paycheck for single coverage and it also includes Dental and eye exams. We believe these valuable benefits offer the peace of mind of obtaining preventive and routine care, physicals and treatment of ailments should they arise. It is flexible to meet your needs, and you can add dependents. If you wish to keep your current health insurance in place or do not otherwise need these benefits we will build the cost back into your pay while on assignment.

Q. I'd like to plan savings for my retirement, is there a Retirement Plan available?

A. Yes, with IHS, you hold in your hands the key to a secure future - the opportunity to enroll in a retirement 401-k Plan.
